Caron Equipment Inc. is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Coordinator to join our growing team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to promote, support, and lead health and safety initiatives across all operations. You will play a key role in fostering a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards, and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
- Deliver and coordinate safety training programs such as orientation, WHMIS, Working at Heights, and site-specific protocols.
- Lead incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, managers, and employees to promote a strong safety culture.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training logs, inspections, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and participate in sustainability initiatives where applicable.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness plans and drills.
- Support return-to-work and modified duty programs in collaboration with HR and supervisors.
- Participate in joint health and safety committee (JHSC) meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in construction, mining, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of applicable legislation (OHSA, WSIB, environmental standards, etc.).
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and reporting abilities with proficiency in MS Office and HSE management systems.
- Ability to work independently and travel to various job sites as required.
- Valid Class G driver’s license required.
