Human Resources Supervisor

Caron Equipment is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Human Resources Supervisor to join our team. This role is well suited for an HR professional who enjoys both hands-on HR responsibilities and overseeing HR functions to ensure consistency and effectiveness across the organization.

As an HR Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting operations, guiding leaders, and ensuring HR processes and programs are delivered efficiently across multiple sites. What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and support recruitment efforts for senior and hard-to-fill roles, providing guidance on candidate selection and offer negotiations.
  • Support and participate in employee association or union-related matters (as applicable), including gathering market data, bench marking industry standards, and assisting leadership in preparation for discussions or negotiations.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, direction, and coaching to managers on all HR-related matters, including labour relations, recruitment, on boarding, leave management, discipline, employee relations, off boarding, compensation administration, and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with supervisors and leaders to ensure consistent application of HR programs, policies, and best practices across all sites.
  • Act as an escalation point for employee concerns, ensuring issues are addressed promptly, professionally, and in alignment with company policies.
  • Lead and oversee workplace investigations, ensuring thorough, fair, and consistent processes, and provide recommendations and reporting to leadership.
  • Support and guide managers in effectively addressing employee relations issues, ensuring consistency, fairness, and adherence to policy and legislation.
  • Oversee the administration and consistent application of HR policies and programs, ensuring compliance with company standards and legislative requirements.
  • Support community engagement initiatives and promote Caron Equipment as an employer of choice.
  • Oversee payroll-related processes by acting as a key point of contact, ensuring employees are set up accurately, status changes are processed correctly, and attendance is reviewed and approved to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all HR, training, and payroll records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with union and management teams to promote positive, respectful, and productive working relationships.

What We Offer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in construction, mining, or a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a lead or supervisory HR capacity is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources practices, labour relations, and applicable employment legislation.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and support managers in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and guidance.
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
